Crowns & bridges
Crowns are usually either made of porcelain or gold and cover both the front and back of a tooth, like a cap. These are used to restore a tooth’s function and appearance usually either after a root canal or after a highly decayed tooth is restored and there is not much tooth structure reamaining. The crown protects the tooth from chipping and fracturing. Bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth by fusing crowns together.
